Description
The Falcon 80 is not just a display showroom for an array of accessories, systems, and electronics—it’s living proof that a nearly 30-year-old yacht can be outfitted with the most cutting-edge technology available today. The result is a standard of life on board that rivals even the latest generation of vessels.
The final result of the massive refitting is a fully renewed, technologically sophisticated yacht, with no negative impact on its waterline or performance.
At the heart of the transformation is Quick’s latest stabilization system—a comprehensive solution that integrates a gyroscope and stabilizing fins. Designed primarily to counteract roll, the system also mitigates pitch. And as anyone with experience at sea knows, being able to test such a system is incredibly valuable. No two yachts behave the same way, and sea conditions can vary drastically—wind, wake, hull shape below the waterline, and freeboard height all influence stabilization performance.
Having a Falcon 80 as a working testbed enables fine-tuning of these integrated systems in real-world conditions. The project was a collaborative effort, developed in close partnership with the team from Navico Connect. Onboard, the latest generation of Simrad equipment has been installed, and its integration with all onboard systems has been carefully engineered to offer the most seamless and efficient user experience possible for those at the helm.
